Weather Notice

Please remember that many classes go outside for morning recess.  We understand that everyone is excited for the nicer weather, however, students have been asking to use a coat from the office and we have been running out.  It would be very helpful if you could please ensure that your student brings their own coat to school.  We appreciate your help!

Field Trip Chaperones

To continue prioritizing the safety of all students, we are implementing a new procedure for parent chaperones on field trips. Effective immediately, all parents who wish to chaperone a field trip will be required to complete a background check in advance. Classroom teachers will communicate upcoming field trip details well ahead of time to ensure there is ample opportunity for the background check process to be completed. All background checks will be completed and paid for through the district. Thank you for your partnership and support as we work together to maintain a safe and positive experience for our students.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Dickes.

One School One Book

We have finished week 1 of Charlotte's Web. Remember to bring your blue slip to put on the wall after you have finished Chapter 1-4 and turn in your trivia questions for a chance to win a prize.

Gretna Neighbors Food Drive

Our annual food drive will be held March 2nd- 6th.  Please see the list below for requested items.

Snow Entrances

As we head into the winter months and the possibility of snow or ice increases, our custodial team will be prioritizing the main entrances on the north and south sides of the building. During the pick-up line, please have your child remain in the vehicle until you are near the front of the building. Additionally, the brick road can become very slippery, so using the main drop-off line is preferred whenever possible.

PTO

IDEAS NEEDED! Please join us to plan Bingo Night and Teacher Appreciation Week at our next PTO meeting Thursday, February 19th at 6:30pm in the GES Library.

If you need to contact the PTO officers, email us at GretnaPTO@gmail.com

Nurse Notes

Please ensure that any classroom treats (birthday/star student) that are sent in have a nutrition label/ingredient list on them. Many places have the ability to provide one upon request. Unfortunately we are not able to let them be handed out if they do not have a label. Please email the nurse at afichter@gpsne.org with any questions.

Please keep an extra set of clothes in your child's backpack. Spills and accidents happen and students tend to be more comfortable in their own clothes.

Lunch time parking

If you come to have lunch with a student please pull all the way forward when parking out front.  It is important to leave room for Preschool dropoff.  We appreciate you help with ensuring they get dropped off safely and quickly
